We are a small, established church in the growing city of Forney, Texas. We are mission-minded, active within and for our community. We are theologically progressive, in keeping with the historic reformed phrase “reformed and always being reformed according to the Word of God.” What a small church DOESN’T mean: • A small church is not necessarily a dying church. • A small church is not “a bunch of old people.” • A small church is not stuck with old traditions with the mindset of doing things “the way we’ve always done it.” FPC Forney is a multi-generational congregation with a diversity in ages. Our membership and our leadership is comprised from people diverse in color, culture, language, sexual orientation, and marital/family status. Our children and youth have active roles within our services; they are nurtured by a community which knows them by name and will do anything to help them. We have vital, life-giving ministries including worship, bible studies, and service to our community. We are open to the future, discerning the “new things” God is up to. We follow Jesus by welcoming the stranger and sharing our stories of faith. We are part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We share ministry with other Presbyterian churches through our regional council, Grace Presbytery.

Give us new and honest hearts, O God, that we may hate evil and love justice; and let us see the dawn of your glory in the face of your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
You have shown your glory, O God, in raising Jesus from the dead. Raise us to new life in him, and empower us to serve you. May your words be in our mouths, your strength in our hearts, that we may be worthy disciples of Jesus Christ the Living Lord.

Do not hide your face from those who cry out to you. By his death and resurrection bring life where there is death: feed the hungry, strengthen the weak, and break the chains of oppression, that all people may rejoice in your saving deeds through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
“Turn, O Lord, and deliver me; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. For in death no one remembers you; and who will give you thanks in the grave? I grow weary because of my groaning; every night I drench my pillow and flood my bed with tears.” Psalm 6 Merciful God, you give life and overcome death. You know our anguish, not from afar, but in the suffering of Jesus Christ. Take all our grieving and sorrow, all our pain and tears, and heal us for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

When we are frightened and alone, lift us on the bright wings of your Spirit, that we may find our safest shelter and our truest friend in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

We repent of our shallow rituals and empty sacrifices. Enable us to do justice, love kindness, and humbly walk with you, our God.
God of all joy, fill our souls to overflowing with the fullness of your grace. In this season of Lent, remind us of your triumph over the tragedy of the cross, and your victory for us over the powers of sin and death, so that we may reflect your glory as disciples of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord.
